The Journey Home: A Three-Day Men’s Retreat for Real Change

What happens when you step away from the noise, responsibilities, and expectations of everyday life and give yourself the space to simply be?

The Journey Home is a three-day men’s retreat taking place October 23–25, 2026, at Wind Hill Farm in Loudon, New Hampshire. Led by Alan Sabin and equine-facilitated coach Betsy Bilhorn, the retreat offers men an opportunity to slow down, get honest, challenge patterns that may no longer serve them, and reconnect with who they truly are.

This is not a weekend of lectures or theory. It is an immersive, experiential experience built around honest conversations, reflection, connection, personal discovery, and meaningful challenges.

A Different Kind of Retreat

Many personal-growth experiences focus primarily on understanding why we think, feel, or behave the way we do. The Journey Home takes a more experiential approach.

Participants have the opportunity to recognize their patterns as they happen and explore new ways of responding. Through guided conversations, experiential exercises, emotional awareness, and equine-facilitated coaching, men can begin to distinguish between who they genuinely are and the roles they may have learned to play.

The retreat is intentionally limited to six men, creating an intimate environment where participants can connect more deeply with the facilitators and one another.

Three Days to Step Away and Go Deeper

The weekend unfolds in three stages.

Friday is about arriving and resetting. Participants settle into Wind Hill Farm, disconnect from the demands of everyday life, and begin creating space for something different. The group meets Friday evening.

Saturday is about going deeper. Through honest conversations and experiential exercises, participants explore the beliefs, behaviors, and patterns that may be influencing their lives and relationships.

Sunday focuses on integration and moving forward. The goal isn’t simply to experience a powerful weekend. Participants leave with greater clarity and a better understanding of what they want to carry forward into everyday life.

The Power of Equine-Facilitated Coaching

One of the retreat’s unique components is equine-facilitated coaching led by Betsy Bilhorn. No previous experience with horses is necessary, and participants do not ride.

Instead, the horses provide immediate, nonverbal feedback about what a person is communicating in the moment. This can create powerful opportunities to recognize behaviors such as adapting, performing, masking, or disconnecting from what we actually feel.

Combined with Alan Sabin’s coaching approach, the experience encourages participants to notice these patterns and experiment with different ways of being and responding.

Making the Experience Last

The work doesn’t end when the retreat is over.

Participants receive a complimentary post-retreat integration session with Alan and/or Betsy. This follow-up provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience and consider how its insights can translate into meaningful changes at home, at work, and in relationships.

Because the real test isn’t Sunday afternoon at the retreat.

It’s Monday morning.

Connection in a Unique Setting

Participants stay on-site at Wind Hill Farm, allowing the experience to extend beyond scheduled sessions. Time together around the firepit, over coffee, in the hot tub, or during informal conversations creates additional opportunities for connection and reflection.

With only six participants, the retreat is designed to feel personal and intentional rather than crowded or anonymous.

A Weekend for Men Ready for Something Different

The Journey Home isn’t therapy or mental-health treatment. It is a coaching and experiential personal-growth retreat for men who recognize that something in their lives may no longer fit and who are ready to explore what could change.

For some, that may mean challenging limiting beliefs. For others, it may involve becoming more comfortable expressing emotions, establishing healthier boundaries, letting go of old roles, or reconnecting with parts of themselves that have been buried beneath years of expectations and responsibilities.

The goal isn’t to become someone new.

It’s to create enough space, honesty, and awareness to reconnect with who you are beneath everything you’ve been carrying.

The Journey Home takes place October 23–25, 2026, at Wind Hill Farm in Loudon, New Hampshire, and is limited to six men.

If something in you is saying it’s time for a change, perhaps it’s worth listening.
